Whether you Google, look at Twitter/X, ask ChatGPT, or check out Listen Notes, you’ll get a basic list of podcasts. Unfortunately, they’re not always the most active podcasts (or the most interesting). That’s a dead end and, frankly, a waste of time for podcast sponsors looking to elevate their brands.
The “site:podcasts.apple.com ‘WordPress Podcast’” search, for example, lists The WP Briefing hosted by Josepha Hayden, no longer part of the WordPress Project. This podcast’s last episode was in September of 2024. You could also pay more than $500 to download a CSV from ListenNotes, but we think you can better use that toward advertising, not data collection.
That’s why at The WP Minute, we’re compiling our own set of data to help WordPress businesses make the right decisions with their advertising spend. 😉
What Influenced Our List?
Sometimes it’s just a gut instinct. Being in the WordPress space for over 20 years, you get a feeling for this kind of thing. It was really easy to come up with names of podcasts, sure. To weed out a lot for this particular article was harder than we thought. We’ve always had a good relationship with our fellow podcasters.
Since audiences are fractured these days we only considered audio-only podcasts that were available on Apple and Spotify but also had a YouTube channel. This means we left out any podcasts that are video only or are only on Facebook Live, etc.
We considered audience reach including YouTube subscribers, X followers, and ratings on Spotify and Apple. We also looked at the ratings on Listen Notes and podcast longevity. (We didn’t just “Google it.”) Influencing being included on this list is the variety of guests and product-focused topics we intrinsically know is interesting for product marketing spend.
Why Wasn’t My Favorite Podcast Included?
There are dozens of podcasts in the WordPress space but not all have opportunities for sponsors. For example, the DoTheWoo podcast network only has one sponsorship opening for 2025. So that’s not exactly helpful for an article showing advertising opportunities within the WordPress Space this year.
WP Insights, Accessibility Craft, and Your Website Engineer seem to be self-funded.
Additionally, many WordPress podcasts that show up in Google and ChatGPT searches have ended like The WP Briefing, Press This, and WP Watercooler which aired its last episode in August of 2024.
Here are our top ten WordPress podcasts to sponsor in no particular order.
